Gina Jackson discovered her passion for volleyball in the seventh grade, beginning a journey defined by athletics, continuous learning, and personal growth. A dual-sport athlete throughout high school, Gina competed in both volleyball and soccer before continuing her volleyball career at the College of San Mateo.
After transferring, Gina earned her Bachelor of Science in Cognitive Science from UCLA. She currently works in academia, where she combines her passion for education, research, and mentorship. Her experiences in both academic and athletic environments have reinforced her belief that meaningful growth is a lifelong pursuit rooted in perseverance, adaptability, and curiosity.
Over the past several years, Gina has coached Power teams with Culver City Volleyball Club, where she has continued to refine her coaching philosophy and strengthen her coaching acumen. Coaching Philosophy
Gina’s coaching philosophy is centered on technical development, athlete education, and fostering a growth mindset. She enjoys breaking down the mechanics of the game and helping athletes establish strong technical foundations within a supportive and challenging training environment.
Gina views mistakes as essential opportunities for learning and improvement. She believes athletes thrive when they feel empowered to challenge themselves, take risks, ask questions, and trust the development process.
One of Gina’s greatest strengths is her ability to meet athletes where they are in their individual volleyball journeys. By building trust and understanding each athlete’s needs, she provides the technical guidance, encouragement, and accountability necessary to help them progress toward the next level.
Developing Athletes Beyond the Court
Above all, Gina believes volleyball is a powerful vehicle for teaching lessons that extend far beyond the court. Through athletics, student-athletes learn perseverance, accountability, mental adaptability, resilience, leadership, and confidence.
Gina is passionate about helping athletes translate these lessons into every area of their lives. She is committed to supporting each athlete as they develop their skills, strengthen their character, build confidence, and establish a lifelong appreciation for the game.
