Harry Gomez is a highly accomplished volleyball coach and former professional athlete, bringing over 20 years of elite-level experience to Blue Banner Volleyball. Renowned for his in-depth knowledge of the technical, tactical, and psychological components of the game, Harry is committed to developing athletes through personalized coaching that prioritizes discipline, teamwork, and competitive growth.

Harry’s playing career is nothing short of remarkable. He proudly represented Venezuela in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and was named the Best Player in the World—twice—during his youth career. He earned the title of Best Player of the Continent and a gold medal at the 2003 Pan American Games. His professional journey took him across the globe, playing in Greece, Turkey, Japan, Lebanon, and the UAE, and winning over 15 professional titles along the way.

After transitioning from playing to coaching, Harry has continued to leave his mark on the sport. He currently serves as the Head Coach at Blue Banner Volleyball and is co-owner of Inside Sports. He has also coached at Menlo-Atherton High School and played a key role in PAOK Thessaloniki Volleyball Club’s Greek National League Championship campaign.

Harry’s coaching philosophy emphasizes trust, strategic development, and fostering a positive training environment. His sessions are rooted in discipline and enriched by his global perspective, helping student-athletes sharpen their tactical IQ while building the character and confidence to succeed on and off the court.

Academically, Harry holds an MBA in Sports Management and Sports Executive Coaching. He is also certified as an International Volleyball Coach (FIVB Level II) and an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer. Fluent in Spanish and advanced in English, Italian, Portuguese, and Greek, Harry seamlessly connects with athletes from all backgrounds, encouraging them to reach their fullest potential.
