Angelica (a.k.a. Gel), the Assistant Director of Blue Banner Volleyball, brings the team a wealth of coaching experience. Since 2015, she has actively coached at the club and high school levels, developing student-athletes ages 11U to 18U.

Gel’s journey in volleyball began in 7th grade when she discovered her passion for the sport. Throughout high school, she showcased her skills as a varsity athlete, participating in both basketball and volleyball. Her dedication and talent led her to excel in both sports. Additionally, she had the opportunity to play college basketball at Chabot Community College, contributing to the team’s remarkable achievement of winning the State Championship during the 2014–2015 season. Subsequently, Gel transitioned to Chabot College’s volleyball team, playing as both an Outside Hitter and Libero for two years.

In 2020, Gel earned her B.A. in Psychology and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Sports Psychology. Her educational background and personal experiences have fueled her passion for sharing her love for volleyball and helping student-athletes develop a growth mindset. Coach Gel believes that sports provide a valuable platform for self-discovery and personal growth, and she is dedicated to guiding student-athletes on their journey to success both on and off the court.
