Blue Banner Volleyball Announces 2026–2027 U11–U14 Tryouts
Blue Banner Volleyball is excited to announce our 2026–2027 U11, U12, U13, and U14 club volleyball tryouts, taking place October 8–11, 2026.
Our goal is to provide athletes with multiple opportunities to compete, be evaluated, meet our coaching staff, and experience the Blue Banner environment.
We believe the tryout process should be competitive while remaining positive, transparent, and athlete-centered. Athletes will be evaluated on their volleyball skills, decision-making, effort, communication, coachability, competitive mindset, and potential for continued development.
One Tryout Pass. Multiple Opportunities.
The Blue Banner U11–U14 Tryout Pass is $49 and provides access to applicable evaluation sessions throughout the tryout weekend.
Athletes do not need to attend every session. Multiple sessions are offered to provide families with scheduling flexibility while giving our coaching staff additional opportunities to evaluate athletes when appropriate.

What Athletes Can Expect
Blue Banner tryouts are designed to evaluate more than one isolated volleyball skill. Our coaching staff will evaluate athletes through individual skill work, position-specific drills, competitive situations, and game play.
Evaluation areas may include:
- Volleyball fundamentals and technical skill
- Athleticism and movement
- Decision-making and volleyball IQ
- Communication
- Competitive mindset
- Effort and consistency
- Coachability
- Team interaction
- Position-specific skills
- Development potential
Our objective is to build competitive teams while identifying athletes who fit Blue Banner’s culture and commitment to continued development.

A Healthy Tryout Process Matters
Club volleyball tryouts can be stressful for athletes and families. We believe the process should provide athletes with an opportunity to compete while giving families the information necessary to make an informed decision.
Families should expect clear communication, transparency around fees and commitments, respectful interactions, age-appropriate evaluations, and clear expectations regarding next steps.
Athletes should be evaluated on their performance, effort, coachability, potential, and overall fit—not through intimidation or fear-based tactics.
Families should never feel intimidated, rushed, or coerced during the tryout process.
Finding the right club should be about more than simply making a team. Families should understand the coaching environment, development philosophy, expectations, financial commitment, practice structure, roster composition, and overall experience being offered to their athlete.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a Tryout Pass?
Yes. A $49 Blue Banner Tryout Pass is required for participation and check-in and provides access to applicable U11–U14 evaluation sessions.
Does my athlete need to attend every tryout session?
No. We intentionally provide multiple evaluation opportunities. Athletes should attend the sessions that work best for their schedule unless a Blue Banner coach specifically requests an additional evaluation or second look.
What if we cannot attend our scheduled age-group session?
Contact Blue Banner. When space and scheduling permit, we’ll work to provide your athlete with another appropriate evaluation opportunity.
What is a Second Look?
A Second Look provides our coaching staff with another opportunity to evaluate an athlete before final roster decisions are made. A coach may want to see an athlete compete again, evaluate them at another position, compare athletes within a position group, or simply gather additional information.
What should parents expect from Blue Banner?
Families should expect clear communication regarding the tryout process and next steps, transparency regarding team expectations and financial commitments, fair athlete evaluations, and a competitive but supportive environment.
Questions or Scheduling Conflicts?
We understand that athletes may be balancing school, volleyball, other activities, and multiple club opportunities during tryout weekend.
If your athlete has a scheduling conflict, contact us, and we’ll do our best to identify another evaluation opportunity.
